May started out with Peyton eating his first fruits. There wasn't one that he didn't like. Now we fed him cereal with his first bottle, a fruit with his second bottle, cereal with his third bottle, a vegetable with his fourth bottle, and just a bottle before bed. It is no wonder that he weighed 15 lb 8 oz this month. He was finally gaining a little weight.
Peyton enjoyed the simple things in life, like playing in old cardboard boxes. One of his other favorite things to play with was empty water bottles. He would just gnaw on those things for hours and be completely happy. Peyton also babbled his first "da-da" on April 4.
I got to enjoy my first Mother's Day on May 11. Peyton got me these flowers and this balloon. Everything was ok until Kyle was playing with Peyton and hit Peyton in the face with the balloon. After that Peyton was pretty scared of that balloon. He would not come near it! Eventually he would get over that fear though, so I guess it was no big deal.
We went to my parents' house in the afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day. This family photo was taken there. My mom and my grandmother were there, so there were four generations present.
It seems like most of the pictures I post are of Kyle and Peyton. That's because I'm always the one taking the pictures! But here is one of Peyton and I. I just love him in overalls!
Ok, back to Kyle and Peyton. Haha. They were doing push-ups together. Too cute, right?!
Peyton got his second tooth on May 21. It was the other front, bottom one. Again, he really didn't have any problems teething. We were lucky. This is a picture of Peyton tasting his first snowballs. Kyle had cherry and I had chocolate. Peyton preferred the chocolate. He has good taste!
Peyton loved eating spaghetti. Those noodles could have kept him entertained for hours. Most of it ended up stuck to his face, rather than in his belly. But that's ok, he was having fun.
Since Peyton now had two teeth, it was important that we started brushing them. This is the first time that he had them brushed. He actually loves having his teeth brushed, even today. I think he enjoys the fruit flavor of the toothpaste.
The next few pictures were all taken at my cousin's graduation party. The first is Peyton eating a cracker. I think it was one of the first solid things that we let him chew on. I really like the picture of my dad and Peyton. My dad looks like such a proud grandfather.
These are pictures of Peyton's first bites of marshmallow doughnut. I really didn't approve of him eating the five pounds of sugar contained in the doughnut, but grandmom was feeding it to him and she would not listen to me. She continue to remind me that grandmoms could do whatever they wanted to do with their grandchildren. I reminded her that I was the one that had to take him home and deal with his sugar high! Oh well, he liked it!
Here is one last picture from the month. Peyton wanted to crawl so bad. However, he would always go backwards instead of forwards. It was pretty funny.
