February 2008

February was another busy month for Peyton. He met a lot of milestones in this time. Peyton experienced his first Super Bowl. Kate, Dave, my parents and brother all came over for a little party and to watch the game. Peyton was sick that day, but he liked using Uncle Dave as a recliner.

On February 5, we heard Peyton giggle for the first time. That has be the cutest sound! And this is a cute picture...

At Peyton's 4 month check-up, we found out that he was 25 1/2 inches long and 13 lb 1 oz. He did really well with his shots. He would cry for about 10 seconds while the doctor was giving him the shots, but then that was it and he was back to his happy self less than a minute later. She told us that Peyton was finally big enough to play in his jump toy. He really liked that thing.

Peyton also finally started liking taking a bath. That was a relief, because it would make me so sad to see him get so upset about taking a bath.

Peyton enjoyed his first Valentine's Day. My parents bought him this special outfit to wear. Kyle and I bought Peyton a gift because he was our Valentine! We got him the Fisher Price Learning Toolbag. He was a bit to little to really play with it at that time, but he would eventually come to love it. He especially likes the songs that it plays.

We started Peyton on cereal on February 16. He really enjoyed eating it. He would eat a 6 oz bottle every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and the cereal at dinner time.

Peyton was already reading at 4 months! He's so advanced :)

I just love this picture because it captures just how happy Peyton always it. I had to include it here because it is too cute!

As most of you know, I'm sure, Kyle and I both like Nike. When we saw this outfit at the store, we just had to buy it for Peyton. He is such a little cutie, especially with his hat on sideways!

On February 19, Peyton first slept through the night. How glorious that was!! He would wake up around 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning for a bottle, but then he would go back to sleep until it was time to wake up for daycare around 7:30.

Right at the end of the month, Peyton was able to sit up by himself. He was able to sit propped up with the Boppy pillow for a few weeks, but on the 28th, we were able to remove the pillow and he could stay up by himself. This allowed him to be able to play on the floor with his toys.

I'll leave you with this video. Peyton loved seeing himself in the mirror. Just ignore that silly hat that he's wearing.
