After Kyle picked me up from the airport Sunday afternoon, we went out to eat a late lunch/early dinner. Then we headed down to Virginia to meet our new nephew, Noah. Kate and Dave looked recovered from the hospital. Dave's parents were also in town to meet their new grandson.
Peyton took a little while to warm up when we got there. I tend to think it was because he was dozing off in the car during the ride down and was still waking up. Kyle got to hold Noah first. Peyton didn't really seem to mind at first. But then after a little while, Kyle was still holding Noah and Peyton started motioning that he wanted to be picked up too. We put Peyton up on the sofa next to Kyle so that he could check out Noah. Peyton is used to being around babies from daycare. He was just adorable with Noah. Peyton gave him kisses. He was also rubbing his head and when I held Noah up on my shoulder, Peyton patted his back. It was just too cute. In general, Peyton was gentle with Noah, but a few times we had to remind him to be easy on the baby. Peyton could say "Noah" but also called him "baby."
