Steak and Ice Cream

On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous! For dinner, we decided to cook steak out on the grill. We marinated the steak early in the afternoon so that it would be packed with flavor by dinner time. Peyton gets so angry if Kyle and I are eating one thing and we give him something different (more kid-friendly) to eat. The last time we ate steak, he threw a fit because he wasn't eating steak. We let him try some and he loved it! So this time, we knew to make him a steak (or as Peyton says - "snake") as well.

Peyton ate all of his steak and half of mine! He definitely ate more meat than me. People never believe us when we tell them how much he eats because he is so skinny, but that boy can put some food away. We also had french fries with dinner, but Peyton didn't want to eat those. He didn't want to waste his appetite on some stupid fries when he could have steak instead.

After dinner, we headed over to Coldstone to get some ice cream. We just wanted to go somewhere where we could sit outside and relax for a little while. I am sad to report that I actually had a bad ice cream experience. I never thought that this was possible! I ordered butterscotch ice cream with some mix-ins and ended up with chocolate ice cream with peanut butter. Those two things aren't even close to each other! I ate the chocolate and it was ok, but I really wanted that butterscotch ice cream! Kyle ordered banana ice cream and Peyton used his spoon to sample both flavors. After we cleaned up Peyton we headed home to play a little more before bedtime.

Steak on the grill and ice cream for dessert are what summer is all about.
