Quiet Weekend

For once, we had a quiet weekend. Friday night we made quesadillas and during dinner and throughout the evening, Kyle tried to convince me to let him go to Atlantic City on Saturday. We had actually talked about going together, and Peyton and I would just hang out on the beach while Kyle played poker, but ultimately we decided against that. The rest of the evening we just hung out and played with Peyton.

Saturday morning, when Kyle woke up, he had a plan for the day. He said that he would go to Lowe's to get something to fix Peyton's door (it had been sticking) and then while Peyton was taking a nap, he'd help me clean the house. We wanted to do a really good clean since we're having guests later this week (YAY!!) Anyway, when Kyle said he would help clean, I knew he had ulterior motives. After we were done cleaning, he said he'd get to go to Atlantic City. I agreed, and in doing so, made Kyle do so many chores. It was wonderful!

Kyle left for AC around 1:00. Peyton woke up from his nap around 3:30 and we just hung out and played together. I enjoyed our time together. We had some chicken parmesan for dinner and then we headed to the mall to try to find Peyton something to wear to Noah's baptism. I couldn't find anything for Peyton, but ended up buying myself a dress. This is a big thing. I haven't worn a dress since my wedding day, and I got married 4 years ago!

On the way back from the mall, we stopped to get a milkshake, because Peyton had been an angel all day. He didn't cry one time. When we got home, we drank our milkshake and talked to Kyle on the phone for a minute. Then we watched some Sesame Street and a little bit of Barney and before we knew it, it was bedtime.

Kyle got home around 2:00 am. He didn't do so great at the casino, and unfortunately we weren't rich as I'd hoped we'd be. Oh well, maybe next time...

Sunday I just went to the grocery store and we did laundry. Peyton and I also went to a viewing for Miss Mary, who was one of the secretaries at the rec center where I skated all those years. She surely was popular because there were so many people there that you couldn't even move in the room and people had spilled out into the hallway and there wasn't room to move there either. It was like a mini skating reunion - my teacher and a bunch of my old friends were there. It was nice to see everyone; I just wish it was under happier circumstances. Peyton, of course, was the highlight of the party. Everyone just loved him. And he loved all of the attention.

It was good to have a quiet weekend, because this weekend coming up is going to be crazy busy and fun!
