Sesame Street Live

Fall is definitely our busy time of the year, so of course we had another busy weekend. On Saturday, there was a Terps game. They played Morgan State at 6 pm. Because of the late start, we decided not to take Peyton or Hunter, so my mom stayed our house with them. It was nice to have a little adult time. My dad rode to College Park with us, and we met Jeremy, Jill, and two of their friends there. We got a prime tailgating spot and set up the tent, table, and chairs. Dad grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausages. We also had macaroni and potato salad, cheese and pepperoni, and chips. Jeremy provided the dessert and we brought the drinks. Everything was yummy. The Terps whooped up on Morgan State, winning 62-3. The game was actually quite boring and we left after the 3rd quarter. The weather was beautiful all day and we had a good time.

On Sunday, I took Peyton to see Sesame Street Live at the arena. My parents met us there. Kyle went to Sesame Street Live last year and didn't really enjoy it, so he volunteered to stay home with Hunter, who was too little to go anyway. Peyton was so excited for the show! I told him we were going to go on Saturday morning, and it was all he could talk about until we got there on Sunday afternoon. He even woke up twice in the night. I think he was worried he was going to miss the show!

We arrived about 30 minutes before the show started. We took a few pictures. Look at my big boy!

Peyton and I. We're both wearing our Sesame Street shirts. Peyton's has Cookie Monster on it, but his arms are blocking it. I'm not sure what's up with the face that he's making, but it's funny.

My mama and pops. It was also Grandparents Day, so Peyton and Hunter gave them a card and a gift certificate to Bo Brooks.

Peyton did not move during the show. This is what he looked like most of the time. He was completely into it and could not be distracted.

At intermission, Peyton thought the show was over and was so sad. With tears in his eyes, he sadly said, "I want more." I explained that they were just taking a break, so he was happy again. Grandmom bought Peyton some binoculars, or "nocalers" as he calls them.

The theme for the show this year was Elmo's Healthy Heroes. Super Grover lost his "superness" and the group spent the show looking for them. Elmo became Captain Fuzzy, Abby Cadabby was Glitter Girl, Telly was Triangle Guy, and Zoe and her pet rock were Wonderzoe and Rock Rock. Collectively they were known as the Fabulous Five. We learned about exercise, good nutrition, getting enough sleep, and having good hygiene. In the end, Super Grover got his superness back! I took a bunch of pictures, but here are just two.

All during the second half of the show, Peyton seemed worried that the show was going to be over soon. So after each scene, he'd tell me he wanted more. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and Peyton was quite sad. I told him we'd come back next year so that Hunter could see the show too! Peyton was super well-behaved all day leading up to the show and during the whole show. Too bad he isn't that good all of the time...
