Maryland State Fair

Kyle, Peyton, Hunter, my parents, Jeremy, Jill, and I met up at the Maryland State Fair way back on Friday, August 27. It took us over an hour to drive up to Timonium, where the fairgrounds are located. Traffic on the beltway was horrific, being a Friday afternoon, and we had to stop two times for Peyton to go to the bathroom. We eventually made it though!

We all parked at a bowling alley across the street from the fairgrounds and walked over as a group. Hunter was actually awake! (His shirt says "Team Grandpa")

Everyone was hungry, so we ate dinner as soon as we got into the fair. Some people ate sausages and others ate chicken nuggets. After Peyton finally finished eating his chicken nuggets, we let him ride the rides, which is one of his favorite summer activities. Jeremy and Jill got ride bracelets too so that they could ride with Peyton if he was too short. Luckily this year he was able to ride the kiddie rides by himself. The three of them started off on the huge Ferris wheel. Next, Peyton saw the big slide and wanted to go on that. The line wasn't that long, but they only had three of those burlap mats, so it was slow-moving because everyone had to wait for a mat, and then walk up the stairs. While we were waiting for Jeremy and Peyton to go down, Hunter posed for a picture with his grandparents.

Peyton and Jeremy were being silly while they were waiting in line.

Finally, it was their turn to go down the slide. Peyton loved it.

By this point in the evening, the Hunter we all know and love was back. He was passed out in the stroller!

Next Peyton, Jeremy, and Jill all rode the carousel. Who was having the most fun? If you said Jeremy, I think you're right.

Peyton asked Uncle Jer to ride on the elephants with him. Jeremy just barely fit into the elephant because he is so tall. Again, who is having more fun? Ha.

Peyton rode the "motorcycle" all by himself. I think it was actually an ATV, but whatever.

Peyton rode another ride or two, but then it was getting late, so we went over to the barn area to check out the animals. There were chickens, goats, turkeys, ducks, miniature horses, and other animals. Peyton loves animals, so he spent lots of time walking around and around looking at them all.

We were all getting tired (hey, it was almost 9:00!) so we decided to head home. We had to pry Peyton away from the animals, but he and Hunter needed to get to bed. We walked back across the street and said our goodbyes. Peyton fell asleep in the car on the way home. Thankfully, it only took about half the time to get home as it did to get to the fair. Peyton had a great time, of course. He got to ride some rides and see some animals. He was in heaven!
