Anniversary Weekend

Kyle and I planned to go out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, which was on Thursday. My parents offered to take Peyton for the entire weekend and we accepted. My mom picked Peyton up from daycare on Friday. Peyton was excited to spend some time with Pop-Pop, Grandmom, Uncle Jer, and Jill.

Friday evening Kyle went to his monthly poker game, so I was home alone! It was nice to be home in a quiet house, as this doesn't happen much. I caught up on my shows that I had recorded on our DVR. I also put five months of pictures into photo albums. It was so great to have a little peace and quiet.

Saturday morning Kyle and I slept in. Then Kyle did a really good job of cleaning out and organizing the garage. There is a lot more space in there now, but I still don't think we'll ever actually fit two cars in our garage. Oh well, my side is empty! We had Chik-Fil-A for lunch and I enjoyed some more quiet time and read a book while Kyle was cleaning.

Around 5:30 we got ready to go out to dinner. Here's a picture of us before we left the house.
We went to Ruth's Chris downtown for dinner.

We each had a three course meal. Kyle had a salad for his appetizer and I had lobster bisque. It was scrumptious. Then we both had fillet mignon for our main course. They cook the steaks there at 1800 degrees, so even though we both ordered ours well, they are still so tender and completely melt in your mouth. We each had a side of garlic mashed potatoes as our side. The potatoes were so creamy and delicious. For dessert, we both chose bread pudding which was also awesome. They brought us a piece of chocolate sin cake with a candle in it because it was our anniversary. We saved that to bring home with us. We were both stuffed after our meal. So yummy!

When we got home we watched a movie and then I stayed up way too late playing Guitar Hero while Kyle played poker online.

Sunday morning I woke up earlier than I would have liked because I was missing Peyton and excited to go pick him up from my parents' house. I went to the grocery store since Peyton was taking his nap. Then when he woke up, my dad said that he picked up his toy phone and said, "Mommy," so they called me. Kyle and I jumped in the car and went to get Peyton. He was excited to see us, and I was excited to see him! The rest of the day was lazy, with a dinner of enchiladas. Peyton enjoyed them and ate an entire one, plus some of the meat out of one of mine.

We have an exciting week coming up, so I'll have a lot more to post about.
